Residents of Nowata, Ok participate in Second Saturday Work Day as part of the Great American Clean Up
The Second Saturday Work Day program continues on in Nowata, Ok this year as volunteer groups coordinate efforts to spruce up their town. This week volunteers will meet from 8:30 to 12 noon. They are asked to bring gloves, paint brushes and rakes. This is a part of a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful grant in keeping with the Great American Clean Up going on all across the nation.  Read More ...

Safari Park, Caney, will be open March 16-20 during area Spring Breaks for tours
Tom Harvey, owner of Safari Park in Caney, announces that the park will be open next week, March 16-20, weather permitting, for two one-hour tours each day, the first at 12 noon and the second at 1 p.m. This is to accommodate area students, who will be enjoying spring break, the opportunity to visit the zoo. Harvey reports some new babies have been born, including Ringtail Lemurs which visitors will get to see. Also, the zoo is now booking for field trips and bus tours.
