Brown, June, age 69, died January 19, 2010 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks. She and her husband were in the auction business. Services were held January 22 at Potts Chapel with burial in the Jefferson Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Terry, 1 daughter, 2 sons, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Coldwell, Mary R., age 92, former Independence resident, died January 14, 2010 at Carmel Hills Health Care Center in Independence, Mo. She and her husband owned and operated Coldwell Drug Store and she worked as a substitute teacher. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held at the First Christian Church with inurnment at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. She is survived by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Hosfelt, Sherri Lynnette, age 49, died January 11, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Ks. Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Potts Chapel of Independence is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by 1 son, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother.

Services were held January 26 at the First United Methodist Church with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. She is survived by her husband William, 2 daughters, 1 son, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, 2 step-granddaughters, 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Terry, Harold “Dean”, age 83, died January 19, 2010 at Regal Estates. He worked for Sektam and various machine shops. Graveside services were held January 23 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Ks under the direction of Potts Chapel in Independence. He is survived by his life companion May Hendricks, 2 stepsons, 5 stepdaughters, 1 sister, 1 sister-in-law, 2 nieces, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Van Pelt, Barbara O., age 73, died January 19, 2010 at Via Christi St. Frances Medical Center in Wichita, Ks. Services were held January 25 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. She is survived by her husband Bob, 2 sons, 5 daughters, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers.

She and her husband operated the State Farm Insurance Agency and she was also office manager for Cablevision for 14 years. Services were held January 21 at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension with interment in Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. She is survived by 1 daughter, 3 sons, 1 sister, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
